I started another blogpost, but this one is more fun to
write so I’ll share this first. And another bonus is that it’s mostly pictures! Enjoy 😊
On Friday, Cru hosted a Fall Festival for its employees and
families. I’ve never been to a “real” Fall Festival (where the corn maze is
real and you have to pluck your pumpkin from the pumpkin patch), but Cru put
out quite an effort to replicate a Fall Festival in 85 degree humid weather on
the green lawns. There were patches of pumpkin and a maze with corn painted on
it.

And I got to help with the hayride! I drove a “tractor”
around headquarters while the storyteller (another volunteer) sat on some hay and told harvest jokes and stories (How do you fix a broken pumpkin? With a
pumpkin patch!).

The next day, we exchanged our country-style clothing for
some more presentable things for a wedding! Corrie, our intern coordinator, got
married and invited all the interns to participate. It was fun, and I helped
cut the cake and clean up. Moral of the story: catering is cheap, but what do
you do with all the leftovers?

Before & After
This next one is a collage of the interns on August 10th, and today, October 26th (minus two girls who are out of town this weekend). Nothing has changed, yet so much has changed.
More reflections to come, but that’s all for now! Hope you’re all having a restful
weekend.
